Inspired by the aesthetic of biology, I’m both an imaging scientist studying the evolution of complex traits and a visual artist sharing the weird and wonderful creatures in nature.

As a Ph.D. candidate in the Oakley lab at the University of California, Santa Barbara I am exploring the patterns of convergence underlying the evolution of cephalopod light organs and jellyfish eyes.
